The Chiefs and Elders of Banda Ahenkro have given the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman of the Bono Region Kwame Baffoe a two-week ultimatum to apologize to them for saying they are cannibals.
Abronye is on record to have said on Accra-based Oman FM in a post election analysis that the people of Banda Ahenkro eat human meat.
He is quoted to have said that the Chiefs, Elders and people in Banda Ahenkro kill human beings and eat their meat.
But addressing a news conference to register their distaste for the utterances of the Regional Chairman for the NPP covered by MyNewsGh.com, the Chiefs expressed shock at the unwarranted attacks by the NPP executive
To them, Abronye’s utterances put the town in a bad light and paint a gloomy picture about people from that part of the country.
They indicated that Abronye’s claims was because “the people of Banda did not vote for the NPP in the just-ended election. But even with that, there are some people who voted for the NPP so why will you soil the reputation of the people of Banda”.
He used the opportunity to call on Abronye to as a matter of urgency “go back to radio station where he made those unfounded claims and apologise in two weeks or the Banda Traditional Council will advise itself”.
