NDC supporters didn’t attack Techiman South collation centre – Bono East Secretariat

The Bono East National Democratic Congress (NDC) Secretariat has refuted claims that supporters of the party attacked the Techiman South collation centre.

The Bono East National Democratic Congress (NDC) Secretariat has refuted claims that supporters of the party attacked the Techiman South collation centre.

Addressing the media at a press briefing, the NDC Bono East General Secretary, Mohammed Ali  Shamsudeen said NDC supporters who had gathered outside the Techiman South Collation Centre didn’t attack the centre with any offensive weapons as the Director-General of the CID had earlier claimed.

“The narrative by the Director-General of CID was full of inaccuracies and falsehood and cannot represent what occurred on the grounds. In the first place, the so-called projected results weren’t the true reflection of the parliamentary elections in Techiman South. You were all there as media, there was no result projected to which someone will be able to make a declaration on.”

“Again, the NDC supporters who gathered outside the collation centre did not attack the centre with any offensive weapons, and it’s very unfortunate that the CID Director-General is unable to state the weapons the NDC supporters allegedly used to attack the centre. They were just concerned citizens gathered to hear the results,” he added.

Mohammed Ali Shamsudeen, further stated that there was no collation at the centre on the 8th of December 2020.

He stated that collation and declaration can only be done based on the required legal document certified by law and not on an A4 sheet.
