Close Down All Schools For 30 Days As 142 Students Test Positive For Covid19 In 4 Regions

The unexpected rise in active corona virus cases in the country has posed lots of fear amongst citizens especially students who are the most vulnerable in this trying times at their respective academic institutions across the country.

The second phase of the corona virus pandemic has undoubtedly been deadly considering the unexpected confirmed positive cases and death trolls recorded over the past couple of weeks in the country.

With respect to the second phase of the Covid19 pandemic, most advanced countries have implemented several measures to help curb the spread of the deadly disease whilst putting all hands on deck to come out with an effective vaccine.

Ghana on the other hand have done similar considering the various policies and protocols which were imposed by President Akufo-Addo over the the past couple of weeks during his address to the nation.

Even though there has been lots of efforts implemented to fight against the spread of the coronavirus disease, it seems like all efforts have been futile as more positive cases and deaths keeps escalating.

Since the President gave all public and private schools including primary, JHS, SHS and tertiary schools the green light to commence academic work, there have been countless active cases of Covid19 recorded whilst others unexpectedly loss their respective lives.

Students have been the most vulnerable since the second phase of the Covid19 disease as more positive cases have been recorded over the past couple of weeks since school resumption.

Below is a look at the Covid19 update depicting the total number of confirmed active cases and deaths in the country.

However, there have been 142 positive cases recorded in schools in 4 regions across the country as 79 students at Akosombo have also been reported to have tested positive for the virus.

Moreover, 795 new cases have been also recorded over the past couple of weeks with 10 more deaths in less than 24 hours as toll rises to 482 confirmed deaths due to the second phase of the Covid19 disease.

With respect to this, is either President Akufo-Addo puts all hands on deck in other to improve upon the safety protocols imposed on the various schools across the country in fighting against the spread of the deadly coronavirus disease amongst students or simply close down all schools for about 30 days in other to save the respective lives of our future leaders.

Whilst schools have been closed down, free and improved virtual classes should be organized for all continuing students in the tertiary, SHS, JHS and primary whilst all final year students continue with their studies till everything comes back to normalcy.
